Just saw a live shot of this nest on the local ABC morning news in San Francisco! The picture was fantastic. You'd think they had their own news camera at the nest.

I'm glad you got that video Mick! I couldn't believe such a little one was trying to eat. He was alone for a while, and mom wasn't going to scoop him this time. It was pretty interesting, but her priorities were clear, and he made his way back. No pip in the third egg yet.

That was Dad .... and the chick got flipped again in case no one noticed! :egg14: Not a good thing to be happening! But that little bugger ... 3 days old trying to feed himself off that opossum!

Their feedings do concern me though ... I'm not seeing full crops yet ... I only ever see the chicks get a few bites. I think red meat is harder to tear into small pieces than fish. Where's the fish? It's a fish hatchery!

Ahhhhh Dad, well that explains the behavior! I had Norfolk and this cam up yesterday, and there were way more feedings in Norfolk. I think it probably is harder to feed other things. Didn't realize it was a fish hatchery...is it still frozen there maybe?
