Late yesterday afternoon when I went to the nest it was cloudy and yucky.
Mom and the gang were busy eating and resting, so it appeared anyway.
I try not to humanize these eagles but they really do have a lot of different
expressions, so I'll try a couple. In the second one if the stick wasn't in the way it would have been
better, but Mom's expression got me. Hope you enjoy!
This is directed at me. "Do you mind"!!!
Image
"Fly right kid"!
Image
The third one is standard from Mom. "Don't even think about it"

Your captions are great, Jim. :laugh2

Attaching human behaviors and characteristics to these birds certainly isn't scientific, but it sure makes for some serious fun!!! Thanks again for being our eyes on the ground!

Thanks Jim! She takes her parenting very seriously, which is why they are so successful!!

A few from yesterday. #2 was flappercizing, and then used his heavy wings to sit on and rest. Dad was feeding one, with another getting the wrong end of him.... :egg8:

Sunday was a busy day at the nest. He may have stole the fish from an Osprey as
one followed him to the nest area, but departed. It was amazing that he held
the fish in both talons up until just before he landed in the nest.
I think his family members have the same thought.

This set is of one of them leaving. Not sure who. Sometimes I lose track.

Today the lighting conditions were bad, but I did manage to get a few of Mom

Dad is such a wonderful provider, even if he is doing it via the Robin Hood method!!! Sure hope the osprey didn't have hungry little ones waiting. And Mom, feathering her nest. That is so sweet.

Thanks Jim!

I am out of breath watching those shots of Dad carrying in that fish! Jim, you out-do yourself with every group of posted pictures of this couple. I'm even flabbergasted with your shots of Mom carrying "fluff." :laugh2 The series of someone coming out of the nest tree was . . . unbelievable.

Beautiful shots Jim...and he's taking in more nesting material? Guess he just needs to feel needed :egg11:

They are one month old, and feathers are coming in.

Yesterday afternoon was something new for me and others at the nest. We were hanging
around in Rennaissance Court and the female flew in pretty much directly over our heads
and landed just to our left. She starting gnawing on the branch she landed on. Small pieces of bark were falling off this branch as she just kept gnawing away. :egg14: Then we got a few different looks that I have never seen and off she went back to the nest. I am only posting two of the 18 pictures of this event.
If you wish click on the link to my website and go to NBG Eagles 2011 season and view the first 18-20
pics. Click on the thumhnail and then click on the image that opens. I tried a clickable thumbnail but couldn't get it. Have a good weekend!

I did look at your website [which I have done several times before] and was in 7th heaven viewing all the wildlife. I am always amazed at how rangy foxes are in real life. Hardly like the ones depicted in the Beatrix Potter series!!!

That's weird about the gnawing. I wonder if that sharpens the beak or something. :egg16: Thanks for sharing more beautiful photos, Jim.
