Thank you beans. Phoebe does all the work. And here is another of her "working it".

And a small video showing her feathers outspread.

Ditto for me! Plus Mick's video of Phoebe with her outstretched wings was quite the catch!

Barb those two captures are especially nice. I love when you can see the perfectly orderly rows of feathers on her head. Thank you!

Well, just thought I'd check in on Phoebe and appears she has more kids that don't want to leave. They were panting in the sun, and she's come in to shade them. She is incredible!

Ditto for me! Those chicks are so cute, and I'm so glad that everything has been working out for dear Phoebe so far this year.

For some unknown reason, all my Bookmarked links for Phoebe's webcam broke.

If this happens to you, here's a working link,

She building the new nest.

On the afternoon of Apr 30th, Pungh posted the following on FB,
"Sorry, everyone. It looks like the 2nd egg was hatching when Phoebe flew off the nest. I guess the chick must have stuck to her belly because I found it on the ground. It didn't survive the fall."

An hour later he posted,
"After absolutely no sign of life, I saw a little movement. Thought it was my imagination. Then a little more. I put it back in the nest and it is getting more active. Maybe just stunned by the fall. Cross you fingers. It might survive after all."

May 1st, afternoon, he posted,
"Chick that fell has still not eaten. I think its neck was injured in the fall. They can survive quite a while on the yolk sac but it appears to be declining rapidly now. Am going to try to remove from nest without further injury and see if I can get help from a local rehabber."

May 1st, an hour before midnight nest time, Pungh posted the following,
"The chick is in the hands of a caring rehabber. She says she got some food into the crop and the chick proceeded to poop. No obvious signs of injury. So we are hoping she will develop and we can place her back in the nest soon. Cross your fingers."
