They were there this afternoon. The female was laying in the nest too and pulling material close to her.

Most activity came this morning between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM. A flurry of activity this afternoon with Larry coming back with more nesting material and smaller sticks. We have had some nasty weather with snow and winds up to 50 MPH. The nest is rockin' but not nearly what it was.

Good job, talon, with figuring out the picture sizing! Gosh, bad weather everywhere.

Larry went crazy yesterday and we were wondering why. An immature eagle was above him when he had food. Finally that eagle tried to come in the nest, but Larry wouldn't let that happen. For some reason, Larry then flew off giving the immature a chance at fame.

On April 3, this immature showed up which is a different bird. There must be a lot of competition out there.

Larry was very angry when he brought in food. He sat there for a long time and was calling out in an angry way.

Eagles4Kids: Nice ones, talon. :egg119: It is interesting to see the plumage of the immature ones. But they are gonna have to stay out of Larry's nest. :egg9:

Eagles4kids Nest

Yesterday one brought in what might be a cardinal. There is red but I think a certain kind of finch has red too. Maybe it is a female cardinal, nonetheless, it was interesting.

Eagles4Kids: Outstanding shots and video, talon! I always thought eagles mainly hunted small mammals or fish, so seeing a bird, possibly a cardinal here is very interesting.

I have seen this pair bring in a crow, blue jay, several pigeons, woodchuck, several squirrels, rabbit, and mice/rat. I also know they were feeding on a dead doe fawn about a month ago across from my parent's house. They live on this road. They have quite the diverse appetite!
