Good One. Right. Target Practice.

They dont' play darts or pin the tail on the donkey.

They play "blast-o-cam"

:egg17: It has been snowing again in Iowa. Here is a shot, you can just makeout the parents head on the upper right side of pic. Snow coming down right now, ground covered. Wind or eagles tail cleared a little piece but not enough! Yesterday while I was watching, the black pony started chasing around the white one, really galloping all over the farm in circles! Really running fast too, very excited. Enjoy seeing the horses along with the eagles! :egg11:

Oh...

I thought it was just a little against the camera lens from earlier pic. That's a lot of snow. Good parents to work together like that to keep little ones warm.

OMG, can't believe the snow there! How neat to see both parents sitting side-by-side in the nest. :girlluv:

Video: Snow Storm at Decorah Eagle Nest

Recorded 4:05 PM local time

Earlier today the camera lens was soon covered with snow, and we could not see the nest. We could only hear a fierce storm! Shortly before that time, both parents were hunkered down on the nest, the eaglets tucked beneath them. Now Mom is on the nest, and as the snow slides down the camera lens, we can get a good look.

Hunting is difficult, if not impossible, during a snow storm. The eagles must eat, as they have expended a great deal of calories maintaining their body temperature.

Recorded at 5:05 PM local time

1st egg: 2/23
2nd egg: 2/26
3rd egg: 3/2
1st hatch: 4/1
2nd hatch: 4/3
3rd hatch: 4/6

I have that same pic, Patti (2gmta)! I'm glad the parents are together. Has anyone seen them feed the eaglets? Maybe too cold to expose them to the elements.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the dramatic screen captures and wonderful video. So far this morn I've counted 5 fish brought to nest by the male.

:egg119: Great video Mick. I stole this pic off the video, hope thats ok. Look at the size of number 2's Crop! :egg14: Its huge! Parent spent some time this am yanking the dirt and sticks up to cover the snow and get rid of it in the nestbowl. Looks better.

Wow, another eventful day in Decorah. Great photos and video!! The eaglets are so cute...yawning and stretching, they have no idea how bad it was around them. Great parents!! The side by side shots are amazing. They must like to cuddle.

Yes LeeLee :eastergirl: O.K. :egg9:

Happy to post that all morning the female brought in corn stalks, grass and even a branch to build up insulation surrounding the nest cup. The male, as his usual habit, arranged them. Many fish brought to the nest by both.
