OMG! I was so surprised to see Mick's picture of Rebecca and hear the news of kestrel sightings there from Warbler.

I just checked the nest and - lo and behold - there's an egg there now!

NEW KESTREL NEST IN POLAND (MPEC - Wloclawek)

This isn't actually a "new" nest as it has been used by peregrine falcons in the past. But for the 2011 nesting season, a pair of kestrels have moved in so we'll be tracking their progress here from now on. So far, the kestrels have laid one egg (see Hanny's post from April 20 that follows).

I am very confused....this is Badhindalang....look at these eggs...3 of the eggs look pipped...but how could that be?

I wonder if a predator has gotten into this nest or if there is something on the eggs that are giving them such a strange appearance....

Edit: I went back and found UStream video....

egg #1 4/16,
egg #2: 4/18,
egg #3: 4/20

so the undamaged egg must have been laid today...well, somebody better guard this nest...

I just checked the cam, and all looks OK with the four eggs. (I think one of the kestrels was in the nest preparing dinner at the time, getting feathers all over the place . . . with some landing on the eggs.)

Thanks, SGB, for checking the egg laying dates. (The dates I had were all a day later, but those were the days that someone on the forum first spotted them. I'll update them to the new dates.)

WHEW...good...your egg pics look a whole lot better than my egg pics...all I could think of was a jackdaw got in there and destroyed yet another nest...

as far as the egg lay dates, we probably have quite a few wrong, but we do the best we can!!!

Egg #4 for Belarus! At first, both kestrels were there and the female was covering the eggs.

But right after the male left, the female got up for a stretch and four eggs were visible!
