I liked that clip because it gave us an excellent close-up look at Mom Sidney. You could see her watching Dad on his trip to the nest. It really takes two to raise eaglets. Do you remember when he brought the fish to Mom in 2007 when she was incubating eggs?

He arrives first thing in the morning. And after he gives her the fish, he takes his turn incubating the eggs! What a guy!

Video: The Three Muskateers

May 9, 2011: The three Sidney eaglets spend some peaceful moments together. This is an experiment with “hot spots” in the archives. Sometimes the videos won’t start (buffering forever & then I gave up).

Recorded at 8 PM local time

1st egg: 3/7
2nd egg: 3/10
3rd egg: 3/14
1st hatch: 4/14
2nd hatch: 4/16
3rd hatch: 4/19

2nd egg: 3/10
3rd egg: 3/14
1st hatch: 4/14
2nd hatch: 4/16

Video: Sidney Sleeps after Stressful Day

It's raining and everyone is asleep. Hope Mom moved closer to Flyer (whose foot is still caught in the nest) so she'll be warm and dry during the night.

1st egg: 3/7
2nd egg: 3/10
3rd egg: 3/14
1st hatch: 4/14
2nd hatch: 4/16
3rd hatch: 4/19

Video: Flyer Misses Lunch

Flyer can't reach Mom, who is serving lunch. Then Mom moves over to Flyer, but she doesn't feed her.

Recorded at 12:50 PM

I haven’t seen her fed today, and there are no posts in the Hancock forum about Flyer being fed.

This is distressful news. A similar situation happened at a falcon nest in Columbus, Ohio last year and the biologist had to intervene to free the chick. I hope and pray that Flyer can free herself from the nesting. In the Columbus situation, the biologist explained that the falcon chick's natural reaction was to ball her foot which interfered with getting released.

The situation to which I'm referring was when one of the two chicks got her foot caught in a crevice outside the nest box. She must have balled up her foot and couldn't pull it out. I wonder if the eaglet is balling up its foot making it hard to get released.
