Peregrinus Brookei and Ferenz - Thanks for the hatching news from Lausen and Muttenz today! Thanks also to Bosuil who sent kestrel updates by PM.

I just spotted another first hatch (at least it certainly looks like a chick) at the Harculo nest.

P.S. The Kestrel Nesting Calendar was just updated.

Italy - San Clemente

It sure looks as if there are 6 chicks now (a couple were hidden off to the side in these pictures).

Italy - Rebecca & Cirro

Still no sign of a hatch even though the four eggs were laid between April 22 and April 28.

Image

Netherlands - Flevo Centrale

There are definitely 4 chicks - perhaps even 5 - in the nest now.

Thanks, Ferenz, for the lovely pictures and videos of cute little Rosinchen at Muttenz. And thanks, Bosuil, for the video from Petah Tikva - it was so wonderful to see the female kestrel bond with her new "adoptive" chicks!

As for new chicks, Rebecca in Italy finally had her first chick hatch!

Image

And it looks as if 2 more chicks (for a total of 6) have hatched at the Bad Hindelang nest.

Image

As for other chicks, those in Belarus are getting bigger - but they still love to be in their "chick pile."

:egghatch: :egghatch: Italy - Rebecca & Cirro

Second hatch for Rebecca! (I haven't seen the new chick yet, but there's definitely a new broken eggshell.)

Warbler - Thanks for the cute picture of Rebecca feeding her two chicks!

Some more kestrel news . . .

Swiss Rhine (Kamera 6) - Mom finally got up off the eggs to reveal chicks! It looks like there are at least 4 chicks in the pile.

Image

Centrale Bergum - It looks as if 2 more chicks hatched back on May 29 for a total of 4 (or it might actually be 5 - it's hard to tell with a chick pile).

Image

Harculo - The cam is finally back after being stuck for a couple of days, and I see at least 4 chicks.

Italy - Rebecca & Cirro

Cirro stopped by to deliver food and check on chick #3. Then Rebecca fed the chicks and looked for a spot in the nest to stash the remains.

Hatch #5 or not?

I'm not sure yet but the ladies at falken-förmchen are reporting since midday that the 5th egg has hatched
