The 8 pm at Oak Creek...OK...we're not going to have a hatch here, so I just hope the parents will just move forward...but, I'll be honest, I was o hoping Scout and Orville would have a new grandchild...oh well...

The chicks have their names don't know if this is old news or not

Cliff - submitted by the Kindergarten class of Zion Lutheran Wayside. After getting information off the Internet about Peregrine Falcons and finding that they nest on skyscrapers, water towers, tall structures or cliffs, the class unanimously suggested Cliff.
Champ - submitted by Eliza Kruszynski, 6th grader at St Thomas Moore in Green Bay. Eliza chose the name in honor of the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl victory.

As the season continues, I forget how little they are when they first start out. Comparing the little Presque Isle chicks to the others really brings that home.
Thanks for all your pics KF! :girlluv:

It is so nice to finally see chicks at Presque Isle! Also nice to see IndyFroona with her own babies. Such a shame that Eclipse will have to wait another year to become a mama...

Here's the egg we thought had a pip...I guess it could have been...or maybe its just damaged..

If it was a pip, it looks like its in the wrong spot...I remember Froona talking about the pip needed to be from the halfway mark up toward the large part of the egg, where the air space is...

I didn't know that about a pip location. Sort of like a breech birth...

Me either, until she said something one time....we probably have something about it in Froona's Corner, but I'm too lazy to look...

I know this says chicken, but I think an egg, is an egg, is an egg...

that is so fascinating SGB. Thanks for the biology lesson. Yes, I am sure there is something in Froona's Corner. She was wonderful in teaching us the science of Peregrines. Miss her...
