Last evening's recording. It's 8 minutes long but I wanted to include the darkness and finally the cam shutting down.

Thank you SGB. :loveshow:

Sweet kitten, thank you.

Well...
:suncon:

I left this morning at 6 a.m. for an all day adventure and imagine my surprise to come back at 6 p.m. and find that the cam was back on.

I feel a bit of the fool for making a "Last Evening's Recording" video on an evening that wasn't the last evening.

Thank you PattiO. I exceeded my data transfer limit at Comcast (there's a data transfer limit?) and so they reduced my speed as a penalty for the last 4 days of June. Makes for choppy cams.

...but now it's July!

These two are long. Quick synopsis included.

Eaglet eats a rat on nest. No other eaglet present but this one practiced a little mantling for good measure.

Cam close up of adult and eaglet. They sit there. At the end the adult flies away.

One of the eaglets returned home tonight with a sore foot. Seems minor, just tender, I'm hoping.

The tender foot is better today although the eaglet is careful with it. I believe it is E2.

Thanks for the videos, Mick...you know, I thought about all the new fledglings last night...especially as I was watching the fireworks in New York...All I could think about was that I hoped the kids at 55 Water Street were ok...I have no clue where that nest is or how close it could have been to the massive firework display!!!

We set up so many perils for birds. Over and over I kept thinking about Scout; such a pittance of a reason to die for.

Short vid; good shadow of eagle as it approaches barn

Short vid; "Feed me?" "No?" "Ohhh, too bad"

My Favorite Video. The instinct of the cam operator to pan back again created this capture.

Short vid; eaglet being adorable.

One of the e's was banded and fitted with a tracking transmitter this morning. A female! There is still some confusion about which eaglet it is but the latest, from elfruler at RRP, is it is E2, second hatched.

E2. The transmitter can just be seen in the light, bigger than I thought... :sunhohum:

Here is a look at the transmitter. It has 2 "wires" that stick out & down in the back. It is held on with straps around her wings. The straps will rot off in 2-3 years. RRP will provide GPS maps for the data, which will be available to view. RRP is also saying they may put transmitters on all three E's. She has one silver band.

In this recording she pulls at the "wires" while preening; they almost look like thick monofilament line.
