They always look so pathetic when they are drenched, but then you see juvie falcons with perfectly nice housing who choose to be out in the rain.

Video: Farewell Estonian Lesser Spotted Eagles 2011

Tormi fledged August 9. Many thanks to Grieta from the Looduskalender forum, who graciously allowed me to copy her video of Tormi’s fledge.

1st egg: 4/27
2nd egg: 5/1
1st hatch: 6/10

Members in the Looduskalender forum who have watched LSE nests said the birds don't hang around the nests, as eaglets do, after they fledge. But yesterday morning (last night for me) Remo had come back to the nest with a vole and was calling Tormi. The parents continue to feed their eaglet, but perhaps they do it away from the nest, too.

This article from the BBC carries the story of the release of young sea eagles into the wild in Scotland :loveshow: :thumbup .

I hope they live long and happy lives in open skies without the persecution that birds of prey so often suffer.

Great catch Mick!
The cam stopped, there was some sort of issue and I closed the window. Then got busy with making a video of the Hamilton falcons and forgot to check back on these Eagles . . .

Had to reboot my computer to get the web cam going again. Just in time to see the little Eaglet unfolding from it's shell while there was a switch between Mom and Dad
