I don't know how I overlooked your video on the 7th but it is wonderful! I agree with Bev. It's so hard to lose them, to even think about it - but I rejoice that he has a companion again and she has found herself a good mate. I hope they have a successful season ahead of them.

I think this is neat. These are the sticks below the nest tree that have fallen out of the tree/nest. This is from October 12th. Another stick fell out of the nest today (October 15th) while I was standing under the tree...

I've read some of the coverage of yesterday's events. I'm sorry I missed it. It seems like it was a magical day for all the eagle fans. Reese sent a note today to say that both eagles flew over during the ceremony. He was thrilled!

Chris I posted your video on my Facebook wall. The joy over seeing those eagles needs to be shared. If that is a problem, let me know. It's easy to delete.

I'm in the pink shirt in the front row, getting video of the male flying over during the dedication. At the other end of the same row are two of the "Mod Squad" -- the people that moderate the blog that runs alongside the eagle cam. At the far right of the picture, in the jeans, white shirt with black sweater is MVK (Marianne) and next to her in the print dress and black sweater is Congowings (Debbi).

This was so beautiful. I am so grateful her life and contributions were recognized in sculpture and plaques.
So many photographers took such incredible images of her. I welcome the new female. I miss Mom. Bittersweet feelings.

He also recognizes Sherry Widmer's children's song: Norfolk Bald Eaglets Three. Then he introduced Holly Lamar, to perform her new single "Eagle."
Dedication part 6 (11:07) Holly Lamar makes some remarks before performing her new song "Eagle." During her remarks, an eagle flew overhead. Then she performs her new song.
Dedication part 7 (3:02) Donald R Buma points out where the eagle statues are throughout the garden. He then introduces Ann P Stokes, of Landscape Architects, who designed the eagle plaza. We are then invited to go over to the eagle plaza.
Reveal of the sculpture “Spilling the Wind” (1:50) This is the reveal of the sculpture, with MVK, congowings, Steve Living, Reese Lukei and Perry Mathewes doing the honors.

Flying in at sunset (0:16) The perfect ending to the perfect day! This was shot at 6:52PM and sunset was at 6:30PM. So, it was pretty dark!
