An update just popped up on FB ...

Quote:
December 19 update

NX weighed in at 3.96 kg on December 18. She continues to eat well and yes — continues to be feisty as well! Treatment of her right carpal wound continues. Another set of radiographs are scheduled for December 20.

I especially like the feisty part of the report. Thanks Patti.

Hi everyone! Since many of you helped support CCB in the Chase Giving contest, I am passing this note from Dr. Watts along to you...

Thank you for your incredible support!
We are now finalizing the paperwork to receive the grant from the Chase competition. We would not have been able to compete for these funds without your support. Your efforts will make a difference to raptor conservation. A portion of these funds will help CCB to initiate a new research project with crowned solitary eagles in Argentina. This species is critically endangered and we know almost nothing about their ecology or what factors have led to their precarious state. In January, Bart Paxton and I will travel to Santa Rosa to meet up with a field crew to deploy 5 satellite transmitters on young birds to track their movements. In addition supporting the work with crowned eagles, CCB will use a portion of these funds to launch a new educational program with bald eagles that will be announced shortly.

Love the images from Reese; thanks, Jim. They look so much alike; it will be hard to tell them apart.
