I went to check on the chicks about an hour ago, but all I saw was a nest in the dark and some comments on the chat that both had fledged late this afternoon. I hope they're both safe and sound.

Three cheers for supermom Pheobe, who's done it again and successfully raised her chicks to fly free in the sky!

Phoebe's back for another round! I checked in earlier and found that she'd laid one egg on March 12 and a second egg on March 15.

Phoebe's nest was attacked by a large bird the other day and the babies are gone. :(

Video doesn't show anything horrible ... the bird landed on the cam and tipped it downward. Had to be either a crow or a hawk.

P.S. The Web site is showing a rose bush today, and the news is that Phoebe was checking out the rose bush this morning. She's probably ready to start building again, bless her heart.

Well, that is a bummer. I thought Joe set up some kind of net to provide protection. But, as we know, it certainly won't slow her down. She obviously has no problem finding a mate when she needs one.

Phoebe's such a trooper - she never gives up. The cam's focused on a rose bush, and Phoebe's refurbishing the nest of Sansa and Arya. This picture from the Web site shows where the nest is.

I just checked in on Phoebe and got a wonderful surprise: She's finished her new nest and laid her first egg this morning! She's such an industrious little bird.

The picture's not great because darkness is setting in, but the egg and nest are visible in the center at the lower edge.
