This is just crazy nuts what's going on at this nest. Interesting to watch, though :popc: as it goes down in the record books.

Along with De Mortel I think :egg9:

I have lost track of the many females that are trying to win this territory (and Dad) but I don't expect any eggs here this season.
And when the "authorities" and so called experts get their way we will never see any ever again in this location :furious:

I think its getting too late too, but it sure has been something to watch!!! Every morning I get a batch of pics from Reese of another woman. Can't even keep track. Well, lets hope he narrows it down over the rest of the year to one special lady. He sure is one hunky male!

Looks like she's settled in. When she started moving around, I hoped she would lay an egg! Shortly after I recorded this video, she and the male started calling to each other.

Recorded at 11:28 PM EDT

beans, do you think with all the upheaval at NBG we will have a female who feels secure enough to lay eggs? Wish it would be, but I am not counting on it this year. Of course, I have no idea what I am talking about - just thinking out loud I guess.

Gigi, I was thinking about that, and I'm just not sure. We know for a fact that the male is fertile, but is DT fertile?

She's spending the night in the nest, so that's good. And after hearing their calls to each other (a few minutes after my video), I knew the male was close by. I wish them success and happiness. I still remember seeing him bring that fish after his three eaglets were taken away. I managed to record only the last few seconds of his visit. (He took his fish when he left, which makes me think he knew his family was really gone.) And I never saw him again until this year.

That brought back a flood of memories. When I first saw the title, I thought we had sad news this year. Glad it was a repeat!

"DT" from Monday morning. Her and the male were soaring and playing in the 30 mph
NE winds this morning for a little bit and then they blew out of sight.

Thanks Jim! She is really my favorite of the bunch, and I thought she was gone for good. All these females must be hanging close by though, as soon as one leaves another returns. It is so wild!

EGG???? That would be simply amazing, but don't think our lovable dad is going to get any chicks this year. But, you never know!

If anyone is interested in the NBG calendar that commemorated Mom, the website says they may reprint it if enough people are interested. Here's the link and then click on the tiny 2012 Calendar up at the top:

And the saga continues with female #4 back at the nest late yesterday and this morning. For pictures and more information, click the link.
