I got a peek at the baby ... a few minutes later this large fish arrived ... and it was still alive!!

I expect an eaglet by morning. PIP was observed this PM. Nice screen cap. I was so busy watching for PIPS!

That debate will continue. It could have been her first year last year and that would explain why she didn't have eggs. She could be just a 6 yr. old and inexperienced. That means the year before we went live something would have had to happen to a different female and Larry adopted this one. Maybe something did happen to our female last year and this one came in and Larry accepted her. She looks a lot like our first female but there are some differences that make it difficult to say. We will never know. There have been to clutches here before, 1 eaglet the first yr, and 2 the second. This is the best I can do. :)

The first 3 are just b4 nightfall. Precious I thought. The next series is from the last feeding. It was a pretty good day in the nest overall. Yes, some pecking but that is to be expected.

My brother called me today. I was watching when he did. When Lucy left around 10:30ish she was calling. Looked stressful. He said Larry was across the highway being chased by another bald. Larry was flying with a black squirrel that ended up in the nest shortly after. Sadly our school lost internet just after that.

They have had quite the smorgasbord up in the nest.

I have a sense that Lucky is no longer with us, may he rest in peace. At least 2 fox squirrels have been brought in along with "Blacky." I have changed his name to "Lunch."

All "L" names: Larry, Lucy, Luke, Lilly, Lucky/Lunch

I don't know where this stick came from. It was windy ... hope it didn't hit her in the head. She moved it when she got up.

PattiO, it looked like a big gust blew in down, but it could have been from the crib rail. I saw it happen and had to go back to the archive. Can't be 100%. It didn't hit her though.
