Today I noticed a tiny nr. 5 at the Rehovot Kestrels, so the last egg had hatched, too.

Mom has given Dad precise instructions as to how to deliver the food: until yesterday, I didnot see him land on the container with the chicks. Instead, he lands on the cam housing and prey transfer happens there.

Mom with lizzard that she grabbed from Dad on the cam (still visible on a ledge overhead).

Today, Dad landed on the container twice. Poor him, he's got no chance to see his offspring from close up!

Dad just transfered a small snake to Mom.

Mom in a difficult posture while feeding:
"My home is too small already!"

All 5 chicks visible.

First egg on April 28 for the Kempton kestrels in Germany!

And it looks as if all 5 eggs had hatched by May 1 for Claudia and Ics in Italy!

Kestrel cam in Berlin is now live . . . and there are eggs in the nest! When I checked the nest 2 hours ago there were 2 eggs, and when I checked just now there 3 eggs.

Mom just arrived back at the nest. We're going to have a great, close-up view of the kestrels here this year!

Thanks, Beth, for the egg news at the Kempton and Harculo nests! (I thought I saw an egg at Harculo yesterday, but the picture was hazy and I wasn't sure.)

Note: According to the Kempton Web site, the third egg was laid on May 4.
