Mom returns after the eyas's had been left alone for about 45 minutes according to the chat on the web site. There seems to be a stick in the way which Big Red removes promptly.

:eggclap: Looks like #1 rth baby has fledged at 11am today - now 2 of these little darlings are left in the nest tower. Dad brought a pigeon, and they ate. Still remains of a chipmunk for a late night snack lol. Chat was going crazy wondering where #1 went to, they called people up and sent them looking lol. Big Red & Ezra know he was in a tree for a while. Arent these hawks just darling? RTH's are sooooo precious, I just love them so. #2 checked out the same spot #1 had fledged from, twice, but no go. He is not ready just yet. #3 not even thinking about it, but wingersizing also. Mom and dad will bring food to the nest, so #1 may just return if he gets hungry in between his personal feedings at the tree site.

Here is a shot from the 2nd camera, which is at eye level. Too little cuties with full tummies hanging out, looking down often and wondering.........

Arent their faces just darling? And those colors so beautiful....

What a flight! Yikes!

I wanted to get a video of them before they flew away......

Yes, all three have fledged. Numbers one and three are resting in the nest, while Number two is in a tree, about a block away.

Around 3 PM EDT

:eggclap: hey beans - 1 and 2 have fledged, but we are still waiting on 3 as she has not yet left the nest. She is "daddy's girl" and he has just brought her a cedar waxwing when she cried, so she will not fledge today as hoped LOL. She watched mom land on rice hall bldg w food, and 1 came over to claim it. 2 waited then came over to 1 looking for a handout. No go lol!

On left side: Mom on top of a/c unit, 2 is on flat part of platform. Rt side: 1 is on apex of building to right

3 alone on nest after eating waxwing from daddy

3, who some are calling "sassypants" is spoiled by daddy and has no interest in fledging yet LOL. Oh yea, daddy will be in big trouble with Big Red as she is trying to coax 3 off the nest, and he went and fed her again LOL

p.s. Big Red brought in the stick w leaves on it to 3. Maybe she wants her to see what leaves feel like for when she fledges? So interesting that mom has been bringing sticks to the nest the last week. I have not seen that before at fledging time.

:egg11: Dad in big trouble for real now. After mom brought the branch with leaves to 3, daddy went and brought his little girl a chipmunk! Mixed signals LOL

:eggclap: YAY! Cornell rth baby #3 has finally fledged! "daddy's little girl" can be seen very bravely and assuredly flying straight out and off the tower! She did not do like her brothers 1 & 2 did going off the lower part that has the small ledge. She went with gusto right out the front door LOL! :dancingegg:
