It looks that the news has not been posted here yet. And very sad news!
Phoebe's nest was attacked on May 2nd (or 3rd) probably by a crow, possibly the same as on the previous occasion. The eggs, which by now would be about to hatch, were lost.
The second clutch in a row lost! The precautions applied recently did not help, unfortunately.
It looks that Phoebe finished her breeding season. And who knows, she may try to find a safer place in the future instead of returning to this site. Only time will tell.

Phoebe is on vacation, but not far from her place (about 12 miles), in Aliso Viejo, CA (3.1 miles from Laguna Beach's Main Beach) there is a nest of Emma, Anna's hummingbird.

Thanks for the updates on both nests rysx. I have been so busy with falcon fledging I haven't had a chance to check in.

What a huge effort by Phoebe to defend her eggs; she is such a valiant little bird. And I am grateful for the finger, which settled everything very quickly.

Thankful for the spoiler alert. Phoebe must have been exhausted after fending of Godzilla.
Emma's little ones are growing so quickly. Thanks for keeping us in the hummingbird loop rysx . :thumbup

rysx - Thanks for keeping up with the hummingbirds. I'm so glad you discovered the nest of Emma - it was great to see the video of her "adopting" the two orphan babies!

Emma is doing a great job managing both nests. She is the ultimate multi-tasker in the hummingbird world!
:thumbup Thanks rysx!
