Luke arrives at nest and settles in. About 5 minutes later, he fends off either Lilly (probably) or another juvie (maybe) and chases them away from the nest.

Here is video of an unexpected tumble from the perching branch above the cams view. There is some flying at the end which indicated they must be fine. I was concerned when it happened.

OMG how did you not have heart failure?
I just about did just watching and know the outcome I still got that skip in my heart I would
have been throwing camera/recorder and running to the tree.
Now mind you I wouldn't have made it but half way before stopping to take a breath. :sum1:
Thank you so much talon that was great and that OH so wonderful gliding at the end so graceful and calming just perfect.
I'm glad your still getting to see them so much keep those videos coming

I stopped by to take some pictures and recorded some video. I saw a good PS, from one E' and Lucy close by. Then when nothing was happening I stopped recording and wouldn't you know the E' hopped up from the creek. I started recording as soon as I could. It had to have been taking a bath. I did not see the other one but thought I heard it.

From my parents deck I saw another Juvie fly over the hill and saw it go by the nest area and it kept on going past the highway and over the hill. Not sure if it was ours or not. I will have some pics at a later time. keep in mind the video is from quite a distance. The furthest distance is close to 200 yds. It is hard to keep it still on digital zoom. Of course the traffic always seems to increase when I stop too. :)

October 10, 2012 ~ Taking Down the Old Cam

Another step in the right direction for E4K. Today the old cam came down and additional dicussions took place on the technical things that have to be done before install of the new cam. An install date will be made very soon.

There is some question of that Lucy may indeed have a problem with her talon. I suspect the right side but could be totally wrong. Let me know what you think. By the way the only cam working now is the old one. We have taken the new cam down to determine what the problem is. It may be going back and getting a replacement.

WOW I see now what your talking about it looks like there is something stuck in it like little bits of weeds/dried grass or something to that affect and she is favoring it I sure hope she can get rid of it if that is what it is I blew up a picture of it & you can see she has her talon balled around something.

Watching the first video it looked like her left foot was swollen. Watching the second video I can clearly see the right foot better and there is definitely something wrong with it. Maybe a big fish hook?? I really don't know what it could be. :sigh I don't like it at all.
