This is the Bald Eagle Azalea. She fledged from the Norfolk Botanical Garden nest in 2009. She has a solar powered transmitter which sends her location data every three days. This video was taken behind Rosemont Forest Elementary School in Norfolk. Recorded with my Sony NEX VG-10 camcorder

Thanks for the news about NX. Since I don't have a Facebook account, I couldn't get to the linked page. Did they leave the transmitter on her?

Here is what Jim posted along with the photos of the release. Transmitter not mentioned.

"Today, May 16, 2012 I had the privilege of attending the third release of NX from The Wildlife Center of Virginia. Once she was free from the hands of Dr. Dave, she flew low to the ground and then gained altitude and landed in a tree about 30 feet off the ground where she rested for a couple of minutes. Once she got her thoughts together, she flew off into the woods. During her resting period, there was another Juvi eagle flying overhead. It looked to be the same age as NX based on the plumage. Be save NX and watch out for those big things with wheels on it!"

Here is a link to photos posted on the site Susan. The photos are posted, but no info. Maybe later.

NX is really a beautiful girl.

Thank you, gigi! In photo #1 it didn't look like a transmitter was on her back. :egg5:

This really warms my heart. I think I started watching NBG in 2007. Anyway, what a nice thing to see this beautiful grown eagle!

He grew into a beautiful adult. How wonderful that we know his whereabouts! Wonder if he has a mate and has nested...

i have been watching Norfolk for a long time also.

I donate to Buddy every year. For me , he is a miracle. and to know that he will be able to help educate others is great.

Correction ... it was not Danny ... Reese believes it was the youngest, which we had named Erin. :)
