I saw first osprey this morning and as I was e-mailing them my picutre they posted , that it jsut returned :vallaugh:

Cam is still working, no Eagle though, I assume/hope all wildlife there has found a safe place to ride out this storm.

At least it means that area still has power, that's a good thing.
("We Europeans" are always a bit puzzled by the fact that power goes down so frequently in the USA. Over here all power lines are in the ground except for the high-voltage lines directly from the plants to the substations.)

Here's what we got from the refuge staff: Blackwater NWR will remain closed on October 30-31. The refuge received 8-9 inches of rain, and due to downed trees on the Wildlife Drive and flooded areas on county roads, the staff members need more time for conditions to allow them to safely remove the trees and inspect the refuge roads and trails. On Wednesday, the staff will reassess and determine if they will be able to open the refuge to public access later in the week. But the staff report that the refuge fared pretty well overall.

11/09/12:
Technical Alert
We put in our new satellite dish and we have one more wiring fix to do this weekend.
Hopefully at that point our static issue will be fixed. Thanks again for your patience.
