I wonder if these owls are in the same family as the protected owl in the Oregon and Washington. I just read an article that the Obama's administration has just reversed last year's go ahead for logging there. They certainly look similar. Funny, so used to seeing unusual birds here, its unusual to see something that looks like an bird from North America.

The Pearl-spotted Owlet ( Glaucidium perlatum ) is an owl which breeds in Africa south of the Sahara except desert and rain forest regions. . Pearl spotted owls are one of Southern Africa's smallest owls

What a guy. Marc rescued a scops owlet. someone found it lying on the road & gave it to Marc. He's going to teach it how to hunt for it's own food

This morning drive Induna caught a baby impala & played with it, as all cats will play
Image Here are links to seeks if you want to watch. Not for the faint of heart. It can be upsetting. Imagine a pet cat playing with a mouse. only this is on a larger scale

I couldn't watch the video Pat, but she is beautiful. I love that little owl! Hopefully he will be successful at mouse training!

Something neat to watch. From the Leopard Hills blog. A female leopard trying to entice a male. Sweet to watch
