I don't think we need to worry Beth!! They are working on it. Sherri (on WOW) sent Lisa an email and this is her response! We may miss the eggs ... but then we just sit and watch them on top of eggs for over a month anyway ...
" Hi Sherri,
Fortunately all our work is being done on the ground now -- away from the nest. The electric company is doing their work out by the road (where the cable is being run to the powerline) and then we have to get our software working for the new cam, but that's done at the Visitor Center.
So if we can get the power running this week and then the software set up, we'll be good to go. Meanwhile the eagles are hopefully doing what we think -- building up the nest and maybe laying the eggs. We might miss the egg laying this year (unless they start later this year for some reason) but we're working hard to make sure we get a good view of the hatching - or as good a view as we can provide with the new cam.
I know folks are a little impatient this year because we're getting a late start, but the new equipment created some added work, and once we get it straight, it will hopefully be much smoother next season.
The one thing I saw that was exciting with the new cam was the pan feature. When we use it, we can get a great view of the surrounding branches, and that means we'll be able to use it to observe the eaglets branching and maybe flying in and out of the nest -- which was something we couldn't see with the old cam.
Lisa "
