4.58pm Larry brings Lucy a cornstalk & leaves for the night. Snow covers Lucy as she sleeps. She stands & beats her wings shaking off the snow at 11.15pm CST.

It's 12:05am CST 2-2-13 and she's sitting up at the edge of the nest; just looking out around her.

I know a lot are watching out for Lucy and I hope she can recover and stay healthy. the weather does not seem to be helping at moment. some warmth would be nice

Larry and Lucy at the nest....well, actually, Lucy in the nest and Larry on the perching branch...

Talon, thanks so much for zooming in..I've isolated some pics I will post later.

I will reserve commit about her feet since I am no expert...except to say the back toe on her left foot is still swollen. The back toe on her right foot (or what is left of it) appears to have that same swelling.

hmmmmmm...I'm wondering if a course of antibiotics infused in a fish, placed in her spot under the pines, would be helpful. I know they tried that with NBG Dad when they saw he was injured several years ago..I can't remember if he snagged the fish or not...

Lucy trying to land on the branch next to Larry...Unfortunately, I started recording too late...hopefully somebody else caught the entire thing..I'm really not sure Lucy is able to perch...at least not on a branch that large..that back toe is a problem!!! grrrrrrr I'm glad she is sleeping in the nest at night where it is safe...

After all of this, I was happy to see her standing in the nest and doing some preening...there have also been some subadults hanging around today...even in the nest...and Lucy has been quite vocal about that...I'll have to see if I can find that video..

After her feast, she returns to the nest, moves some materials around, does a little feaking on the snow, and settles in..

Larry and Lucy have a conversation...Only they know what is being said...but, so cute..

Interesting day - had 3 subadult eagles on the field, and one in the nest earlier today. Lucy lands in the nest later, and Larry joins her, they both loudly let it be known that this is THEIR NEST.

you made a valid comment about putting some antibiotics in some prey . they did this at Sidney nest a few years back when a juvenile was ill. they knew the adults would take the fish to the young one. It did and the juvenile was O.K.

I would think it would be worth a try. They do not have to tell anyone if that is an issue. Just do it.
