Well, as I lost the light, she was still on the nest...but, I could tell she was doing her nightly calling!!!

Mrs Owl has laid her own egg...I read back through the chatter comments...sorry, forgot to note the time...but, it was this afternoon...I don't know how I missed it...guess I shouldn't delete recordings unless I check them thoroughly!!!

Well, she finally moved....look at the size difference...I hope that eagle egg falls apart soon...and I know this sounds silly, but I hope she has a mate....this isn't gonna work if she doesn't..

I want the eagle egg to hatch...Call me crazy...but.... It would be a undocumented history!!!! I know it won't but my imagination is running rampent...
Did switch out robin eggs with starlings eggs once when I was a kid....It worked...It was interesting to watch the robins hopping around the lawn with young starlings in tow...getting worms shoved down their mouths...

:hahah :hahah I sure have thought about that myself!!!! Can you see a GHO raising an eaglet? What would the neighbors say!!!

I read on the comments page that the eagle egg is gone and so is one of the owl eggs...either through predation OR the other theory is that the eagle egg exploded, the owl egg got guey and stuck to mom as she was leaving...we've seen this unfortunate thing happen before...I'm just glad the eagle egg is gone..

If this egg hatches, we'll move this to the GHO section...

WOW...look at ms Owl...she's got a snow fort going here...according to the comments, she also sat through a pretty bad, but brief hail storm on the 18th. What a trooper!!!

Rain/sleet/snow will continue through Thursday morning..They are expecting to lose the cam because its solar....
