maybe like humans , it depends on what they eat, and of course, the snow is so white that it may appear darker than what it is

Will be checking nests off and on today

Larry lands with a rather large stick...and seems undecided as to where it should go. After 'stabbing" Lucy several times, she takes matters into her own hands (beak) and takes over stick placement!!!

I think all that snow confused Larry as where to put it. Of course, us females, know these sort of things :teehee: :teehee:

Great report at MARS on facebook about an Eagle with one foot that has survived they are thinking he is an older guy and doing fine. Here is a link to a picture and the report.

The cam has not been cooperative for me this today...way too much buffering...maybe my internet connection? anyway, assortment of pics..

Later in the morning, both were really working on the nest...Lucy was quite focused on the nest bowl and was moving straw around..at one point, they both were moving a stick...Larry won that battle..sorry, these will probably not be in the best order..

Time for Lucy to rest

they left, but then Larry brought a squirrel..and Lucy chowed down.

As I said, my vids are the pits...but, I did find one by priscillash1·of Lucy enjoying her lunch!!! Includes a closeup of her left foot.

Bev...I have no clue...the front 3 toes have looked good for a while now (the blood you saw on the first toe is from the prey she was eating)...

I haven't seen that back toe in a while...its the one that's appeared to be so swollen..I think it could still be swollen, as she still appears to walk on the side of that foot...who knows...

Nestorations continue...I didn't get the recorder on the cam fast enough to get Larry's fly up with this stick...which looked huge in his talons as he was approaching the nest..

WEll, hormones must be raging...

Intruder attack!!! the guess is maybe a first or second year sub adult...but, not for sure...so glad Larry was there to help Lucy out!!!

They stayed on High alert for about an hour after the attack...you could tell from their posture, that they were tracking it...my guess it stayed near the nest tree....silly eagle..to attack a nest with BOTH adults on it...geeeeeez
