Well, found their FB page..UW Oshkosh..of course, not one mention of falcons..

did find articles written about the 2012 falcons by a Mandy Potts in their newsletter...I ran a search for her on their main website..not listed...maybe a student no longer there?

I did find an email address for the "media"...If I don't hear back from Greg, I may try that one...of course, tomorrow it could be all back to normal..

Gosh..you don't think Hondo was released, do you?

Well, Greg wastes no time..here is his response:

I wouldn't be too concerned about the three falcons - these battles are fairly common this time of year and he fact that this one only lasted a few minutes leads me to believe there were no serious injuries. Most of these territorial battles are short-lived as the lesser of the two fighters is driven away. I've seen battles that lasted for close to an hour where in the end a falcon was killed but these are not that common.

It appears to me there was a skirmish inside the nest box and then the battle likely continued away from the box. It'll be interesting to see what things are like in the morning. I'd bet we see two falcons again - until the next intruder arrives.

    All the best,

    Greg

Well, duh...I should have asked him about band ID's...I assured him if we see anything differently tomorrow, I'd send another email...LOL

I bet these biologists just love us... :girlcrazy:
