any news on Pale male

Lincoln Karim posted on his blog recent pics of PM with new mate Octavia mating and doing nestorations at PM's nest site. Roger_Paw, on her blog (she blogs mostly about the Washington Square pair, Bobby and Rosie, posted recently that Rosie is also mating and building a nest with the Plaza male! Hmmm-which site will she use to lay her eggs and who will be the daddy? :teehee:

thanks KRis :snowflake2:

I messed up on this one! I meant that Roger_Paw thought that Octavia (PM's mate) was mating with both PM and the Plaza Male-not Rosie. After much investigating by a few people, it looked like Octavia with Plaza male but it was a female that looked like her. So they think that there are 2 pair. Anyway-Bobby and Rosie have an egg (and they think there might be 2-can't be for sure because the NYT's backed out of sponsoring their webcam this year :girlsad3:). PM has been seen taking nesting materials to the nest and Octavia and PM have been seen mating in past few days but no eggs that I know of yet. Hope this makes sense!

Cam-tastic! Now showing: falcons, hawks

They're both back this year.
And the red-tailed hawks nesting on a window ledge of the Franklin Institute are apparently putting the final touches on this year's next.
So join in. Just beware. It's addictive.

Big Red and Ezra are Back!
While we've been preparing for another busy cams season, Big Red and Ezra came up with a surprise for us: an egg laid yesterday evening, March 14! The pair had moved their nest to a different light pole overlooking the same athletics field at Cornell, and we've been working hard for the past two weeks to install wiring and cams at the new nest site. Although the live feed wasn't up and running yesterday, the new cam captured the moment in this video clip
when Big Red stood up and revealed the egg. With a possible second egg coming in the next day or two, we don't want you to miss anything, so we've decided to go live even though the signal may drop occasionally as we troubleshoot some networking issues. Thanks for your patience!

A friend of mine has been watching this nest and told me tonight they have 3 eggs. I'll try to remember to look tomorrow... but I can't promise.

Big Red laid her third egg of the 2013 breeding season on March 20. This egg came 3 days after the second egg, and 6 days after the first egg. The laying interval was the same as last year, and in 2012 it took 38 days from the first egg to the first hatch. Ezra is her very attentive mate.
