NOOOOOOO SGB!!!!!!!

:bughug: We need you too!!! I just don't want Kitten avoiding the outcome! She hasn't posted since this afternoon (but she's probably working!).

I truly think our weather has gone nutso!! The rules are changing and we have to go with the flow I guess. I think the eagles should consider moving further south to do their breeding!! :teehee:

I give up...I lose the cam more than I keep it...

I have seen no chick movement..but, then again, I can't keep the cam long enough to record and then check for movement that way...

Morning everyone. Side cam is very pixely this morning and of course can't see nuttin with that darn smudge. There's gotta be movement under Mom as she keeps looking down and shuffling her feet.

I see one moving... Mom's head is in the smudge and you can the chick under her... it's head is to the left of adult (as you look at the picture).

I'm pretty sure this is the baby off to the right. Mom must have removed it from the bowl area. :(

Everyone seems to be in agreement that there is only one left. Mom and Dad both on the nest again. Very cold and windy. Little one is suggled up as good as possible in front in Mom. This really, really *&%#@.

I watched 3 really big feedings today for 1 chick. I counted over 40 bites for the chick at 6:41 to 6:48.
I saw another feeding at 11:15 and the chick finally fell asleep even though the parent was trying to give it more.
At 3:31 The chick again was very vocal and ate very well. It was reaching for food as fast as the parent could offer the food to it.

This storm just will not move along. I have to say I am very sad about all of this. The weather improves on Friday but it is going to be cold again early in the week before it finally warms up and dries out. I am so praying for this chick to make it.

Crazy weather... the ski areas closed early and are now reopening because of all the snow in the mts. Some areas have had close to 3 feet.

Thanks for all the reports everyone.

Thanks for sharing that, golden...its just such a shame. They were left alone so much yesterday, it was bound to happen. I'm sure the parents were dealing with the food issue, maybe intruders (?) I don't know, but I had hoped that they would have at least tag teamed the day, Its just so ironic to see both parents now. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are together and hopefully, they can keep this little one alive. I just don't get why one didn't stay with them yesterday to warm and protect

I'm watching them now...both parents are on the nest. I can't tell if I'm seeing the baby or the tail of one of the parents...sure hope its the tail..otherwise that would mean the baby is not covered.

It is 23 degrees with light snow... :girlsad3:

I think that the only reason they left them alone so much yesterday was because they had to find food. How does an Eagle find food with almost 2 feet of snow on the ground? Gave the lakes frozen up with the low temps (I would imagine so). I don't know where they catch their fish ... a river?

In such extreme conditions the adults have to take care of themselves regardless of chicks on the nest. Everytime I checked in today there was an adult there.

I don't understand how a second one died myself as I saw both getting fed yesterday. It has to be the cold and wet getting to them. :tissue: :sum7:

I'm so sorry for this pair and everyone here who root for this pair every day. The weather has been so tough this year.

I was so hoping that we really didn't lose 2 ... but it's clearly obvious this morning. Mom has moved the other eaglet out of the bowl. It is still very cold.. . only 21 right now. That should be the last night for those cold of temps. We just need some warm sun to melt the snow off the nest ... and maybe some grass or something. Mom is quite tired herself. :( RRP forum is calling this eaglet Survivor! But we're not out of the woods yet.
