I posted at the blog about the cam maybe being turn back to the outside view at Port, but they never reply so I don't know if we are going to get to see the chicks to much.

Eclipse, a female peregrine falcon, sits on the edge of a nest box at the WE Energies Oak Creek power plant on May 28.

Last October we shared the story of an adult female peregrine falcon trapped in a building at the WE Energies Oak Creek power plant.

The bird, named Eclipse and tracked by Greg Septon of Muskego as part of the Wisconsin peregrine recovery project, had successfully raised chicks in a nest box at the facility earlier that year.

But Eclipse, likely in pursuit of pigeons or other prey, found its way into trouble last fall.

Officials at the plant called Septon to help rescue the peregrine, which for several days had not accepted the invitation to fly out open doors or windows.

Septon used a live homing pigeon to lure Eclipse to him. He grabbed the peregrine and saved the pigeon in the process.

Septon said Eclipse was dehydrated and had lost weight. But after he released the bird outside the building, Septon thought Eclipse would survive, in part because the bird was in the midst of a false courtship period.

Based on photoperiod, peregrines and other species exhibit courtship behavior in fall. In peregrines, the male brings food to the female, just as during real courtship in early spring.

Septon received confirmation of Eclipse's survival this spring when the bird nested at the Oak Creek facility.

Early last week Septon was once again face-to-face with Eclipse, this time to band the bird's four new chicks. The adult and young peregrines all appeared very healthy, Septon said
