I think I want to be at the Carolina Raptor Center :bonnet: and not in Minnesota based on your temperature chart. It is cold up there! :coldwinter:

OH NO!!!!!!! found this article.....
Hays eagle fends off raccoon attack

By Mary Ann Thomas
Published: Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, 10:57 a.m.
Updated 2 hours ago

A raccoon attacked the bald eagles nest in Hays early late Wednesday night. The bird sitting on the eggs, presumably the female eagle, reared up and scared the predatory animal off.
All three eggs seem to be intact, according to Bill Powers, CEO and president of PixController of Murrysville, the company that installed the nest webcam with the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Powers said the raccoon paid its unwelcome visit to the nest at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night.
Raccoons are notorious for nest predation of different types of birds and animals,? said Brian Shema, director of conservation at the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania.
At first the eagle seems surprised by the raccoon and takes a couple of seconds to react, Shema said.
The bird spread out its seven foot-wingspan and thrust its talons out toward the raccoon in a classic display of aggression.
The raccoon quickly turned tail and fled the nest.
Eagles use the attack posture to intimidate foes, according to Shema.
Actually physical contact is rare but, when it occurs, it is fatal,? he said.
If the raccoon would have stayed in the nest, the eagle would have defended its eggs, possibly killing the raccoon.

Worse thing now is no one seems to have seen DAD Mom has been yelling now for over an hour. So if anyone has seen him since last night please post so I can stop worrying. Thanks so much

First egg arrives for Indy and Frank at the AEF nest!

by twizzkid
Today while some maintenance was being done in the aviary, they discovered that Indy and Frank had an egg! Per Craig Strong, the egg appears to have been laid today and has temporarily been removed to an incubator while they finish work, but will be returned ASAP. Exciting news!

Carolina Raptor Center’s Bald Eagle Webcam facebook page/news... posted yesterday 3/5

Thanks to all of our Eagle Watchers this season for your rapt attention to this page and the EagleCam. Today, in lieu of Ask the Eagle Expert, we are letting you know that it is unlikely that the eagle egg will hatch this year. Although we have not removed the egg as to not stress the birds, it appears that the egg was not fertile in the first place. This could have happened for many different reasons, but most likely the disruption from the aviary construction early in the season was a contributing factor. We hope that you will continue to watch Savannah and Derek throughout the year and that we will have eggs again next season.
