E4 is 89 days old and will soon be soaring. we never know what lies ahead but I try and watch these moments when I can

A feed on nest with adult and E4 I do not know why sound is what it is but I will figure it out yet

PARENTS IN NEST WITH E4. EACH PARENT CURRENTLY EATING A MEAL ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE NEST WITH E4 LOOKING ON. WHILE I WAS WATCHING, THEY DID NOT OFFER HIM ANY. IS THIS TO ENCOURAGE HIM TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN HIS DEVELOPMENT?

LOL. I will try and post a bit of some videos today, a bit later but E4 was fed at least 4 times today an d he did lots of flapping and spending time in branches. I thought he would go today but with all the food he had, he would have floated to ground LOL

Adults were finally taking their share. They were both in several times today with food and to help E4 eat.

THANKS BEV. I DID NOT MEAN TO IMPLY, THEY HAD NOT FED HIM. ONLY THAT THIS WAS FIRST TIME I HAD SEEN THEM EAT AND NOT OFFER HIM ANY. THOUGHT I READ AT A SITE LAST YEAR AT FLEDGE TIME FOOD IS WITHHELD SOME AS ENCOURAGEMENT. MAY HAVE BEEN PEREGRINES OR I MAY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD. I THOUGHT HE WOULD FLEDGE YESTERDAY AND TUNED IN MANY TIMES. I ONLY SAW HIM FLAPPING AND BRANCHING WITH AN ADULT IN A BRANCH UP AND TO THE RIGHT WITH OCCASIONAL TAKEOFFS. AM SEEING SAME SCENARIO TODAY WITH PERHAPS FLYBYS. I,M SURE WE WILL BE CELEBRATING SOON!

He certainly is a stinker.

you are right in thinking they sometimes withhold food just before fledging but in last while while observing falcons and eagles , they seem to be stuffing them. I guess every one of them is different

I am recording here till he/she fledges so that is the only reason I saw him get so much food yesterday. I was astounded at the amount but the adults ate a fair bit also.

I thought he would go yesterday and he has been on front porch most of day today.

hopefully he/she has a good take off

E4 is certainly flapping a lot and going quickly form brand to brand and back to nest.

Certainly looks ready but i know it will happen when E4 is ready and not me LOL

COME ON E4, TODAY'S "THE DAY" YOU CAN DO IT!

yesterday he finally ate a fish by himself. He made it to the attic twice and so his muscles are getting stronger.

so when he feels it is right he will go. the adults here are great adults.
I always take videos and never seem to get them posted .
