HEY, THANKS SKYGIRLBLUE! I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BLUEBIRD. WE HAVE LOTS OF BLUEJAYS AND THEY ARE VERY CONFIDENT IN FLIGHT AND MANNER...LOVE THEM! THIS WILL BE A REAL TREAT TO WITNESS BLUEBIRDS. :egg19:

I still can't get over how big B3 is...I think this is mom, still giving out lots of TLC. A few minutes after I stopped the recording, B3 crawled and buried his head under mom...she scrunched closer to cover him more...it was so cute...didn't last long though...LOL

The rain has arrived..I'm not sure we'll see much of this the next 24 hrs...unless its to shake off water..

Just finished playing catch up with the Berry FB page. they seem to think that Mom is MIA...I keep the cam up a lot but don't always posts pics here...I could have sworn I saw mom earlier today...B3 is getting so big its more difficult to id the parents, maybe it wasn't mom..hmmmmm....one more parent to worry about...grrrrrrr.

I watch all the time and usually see them both at night , but I was away a lot yesterday and today.

dad was just in nest and he is tree on left side. I always keep approach cam so I can see them go into tree

Hopefully we see mom. Man, I only missed the evenings on weekends because I was busy monitoring from ground at my sites

Finally drying out..potential for high wind gusts this afternoon (40-50 mph) then freeze warning tonight...

B3 is lounging..haven't seen a parent yet..

Dear Friends:
Thank you for all the concern you have expressed over our missing mother eagle. I can assure you that we have been doing everything we can to assess the situation and to determine what may (or may not) have occurred. There is no doubt that her continued absence is not a good thing. But, as long as the father continues to feed the eaglet, all will be well. Yesterday, he brought in fish twice so that was good. Dr. Carleton believes that the eaglet is now large enough and strong enough to continue to progress successfully toward adulthood. Because of her size, predators would be unlikely to attack her.

Our staff and the local photographers who are so familiar with her patterns have been checking areas she is known to frequent.

We understand that many of you feel helpless, but we encourage you to remember that these are wild animals, and we are privileged to have a glimpse into their world which is often difficult to understand.
