Today I discovered that Kuleczka is 4 and not, as I thought 6 chicks.
View was previously uninteresting,
and Kuleczka children obscured during feeding

I do not know when they disappeared two chicks :egg12:

loza - Sorry to hear that there are now only 4 chicks at the Wloclawek nest.

Italy - Rebecca and Cirro

Surprise, surprise! I just checked in on the nest and found a chick that had just hatched. It was nice to see the first hatch here.

Belated update about the Lesser Kestrels in Elyakim, Israel:

They will be ready to fledge in a few days from now. Wingflapping already busy, esp. after eating!

The average number of fledglings has been 3 over the years, with the exceptions of nests with 4 fledges in 2010, 2012 and 2013, but this season is very special:
one has 4 and the other has even 5 chicks that made it at least till now (24 days) and seem to be fit and healthy. If indeed all 5 will fledge, it will be a first for the observed Elyakim nests in all these years (and apparently also in the whole area that has been researched for quite a number of years in succession).

Israel - Yizreel Valley

I can't access the cam, but I can get to the blog. The news here is that on 5/18, 3 of the 4 eggs hatched!

Italy - Matera

I don't believe it! The cam is live, and the male is in the nest with one egg. According to the social stream, the first egg was laid on May 22.

Italy - San Clemente

There had been 5 eggs here that should have hatched between 5/18 and 5/20. Now there are only 4 eggs and no chicks, so I believe this nest is a failure.

Update: Forgot to mention that the web site for Italy (Rebecca & Cirro) noted yesterday that a total of 4 eggs had hatched.
