B3 has FLEDGED!!!!...

grrrrrrrrr I opened the cam about 2 minutes too late, darn it!!!

Thank goodness crayj46 caught it!!! Looked a a really good flight!!!

This is too funny....B3 is still there...I guess she just fledged to prove to us all that she could fly...LOL

My timing has been lousy with this cam today....I had JUST stopped my recording so I could start a fresh one..and B3 flew...right toward the cam and up to the left...strong flight!!!

After I saw what I posted yesterday, I knew she was ready. she did that a lot yesterday but I thought she would d go from top right

I have not stopped watcing , and i am sleeping when she flies LOL

Mark A Miller She flew to a nearby pine tree. When I saw her take off from the launching limb at the nest on my computer I raced over to the nest. As soon as I got out of my car I could hear blue jays screaming and I knew right where she was The jays continued to torment her in the pine. One of the parents returned to the nest with food and you could tell B3 wanted to fly back to the nest. Just when it looked like she was going to take to the air again the limb she was on broke and crashed to the ground. B3 dropped about five feet but managed to grab onto another limb. This clearly shook her up and she didn't move at all for quite some time. She was screaming at the pestering jays. Finally she started the head bob that they will do right before they take off and then she was airborne again. She did two wide circles around the nest tree before making a somewhat awkward landing back in the nest.

Well, what do you know...approach cam can pan and zoom...they just took a sweep of the area, looking for B3...cool...(didn't find her)

when I say right tree and left tree, it is how I look at it when viewing from approach cam

this video is a little longer, in the first part you can see the indecision whether to fly or not, then it took courage and go away

they were panning again..saw a fly by, but pretty sure it was an adult..of course, missed the pic because I was recording Columbus...

They've really pulled the approach cam back...which is good...they are zooming in again on a different tree...I wonder if they've got somebody on the ground telling them where to look...they keep going back to the same stand of pines...of course, that could be the only places they can zoom...gut, getting a good tour right now....reminds me of when I was operating the Richmond cam...its really tough to locate a bird in a tree...LOL

I've been recording non stop...nothing..other than little birds and a beautiful blue sky. I bet B3 is out there having a blast!!!
