How funny to see that squirrel running around on the nest. I wonder how many warnings he will get before Mom and Dad lose their patience. ;) Thanks for all the pics today, kitten and Patti! :sfthumbs: Couldn't really tell about the bands . . .

KF - Thanks for the great pictures and slideshow today. That eagle pair sure looked kissy-kissy in your show! ;)

Patti - That was too cute with the squirrels in the nest.

Still one on the nest .... they've been there a lot so far today. I made a slideshow. When you get the picture with the red circle around the leg, that's the last pic. I think you are right about them being banded Kitten. :)

This couple certainly was busy today! Thanks for the slideshows, Patti and kittenface. Do you think this is a different pair from last year? I can never remember which ones are banded and which ones aren't.

Oh Kitten, I know how you feel! It was so sad last year. Thanks for researching the bands from last year . . . so hopefully it is the same couple.

Well I got my email reply here it is
You have just been sent a personal message by GreeleyJoe on raptorresource.org.

Hi---

I'm not all that sure but I checked with one of the other staff members here at FSV
and he said that....

"....it sure would be nice to get a clear number on the large yellow tag...we could
check with DOW on origination. Otherwise, this is a different bird than we have
had in the past. In the past the female had a blue band on one leg and a silver
band on the other and was found to have come from Barr Lake (near Brighton, CO).
The male had no bands."

"The bird that has the yellow tag has to be 4-5 years old as it has full adult
plumage. The yellow tabs were put on our birds from 2004 - 2007."

Hope this helps.

Joe

This is the picture of the tag he was talking about someone over at RRP
said it might be a cattle tag that got stuck on the talon, I guess there was
some problems a few yrs back with them
