Boy, the cam was only able to catch one feed all day at Milwaukee County... I guess Tahoe must feed on the half hour....

Checked out Milwaukee County today - the cam did not catch an adult all day! I had to chuckle at the 8:00pm catch, though - two babies sleeping, but one was "on watch"

The peregrine falcon chicks at our power plants soon will be named and banded. The hatchlings are growing quickly, as captured by our webcams.

Peregrine Manager Greg Septon will put wildlife bands on the chicks Monday morning with a school group from Country Dale Elementary School in Franklin on hand to watch. The students will name the chicks.

Meanwhile, chicks also are present at our nest boxes in Pleasant Prairie, Wauwatosa, Port Washington and Marquette, Michigan. Banding events soon will occur at these sites as well. We’ll keep you posted here on our raptor blog. You can follow the chicks' progress on our webcams."

EDIT: This was posted before I learned that IndyFroona had been displaced by Brinn. I'm sorry for the mistake.

We were in the Port Washington area today, so decided to stop by and see if there was any activity at the nest. We didn't know the location of the nest but lucked out and found it. We also lucked out with some activity.

This has probably been posted before, but in case it has not, here is where the nest is . . .

We got there around noon and expected NO activity, but at about 12:10 p.m. in came the male who landed outside the box, and we could hear chattering. Indy Froona came out and they both flew out together over Lake Michigan circling a couple of times in unison.

Then they landed back on the station in these locations . . . IndyFroona on box and male nearby

IndyFroona took a circular flight out and over the parking lot and right above our car (!). I said, "Hi IndyFroona girl." Then she and the male want back to the box and chattered a bit, then she flew out again and circled over the parking lot, then out of sight. The male went in the box. We waited another 10-15 mins. then needed to get going.

WOW...Susan...what a treat for you!!! I can't believe you actually got to see this nest...and some action as well!!! Such great pics..

But, I do have some rather disappointing news for you. Indyfroona was displaced this year by Brinn. Of course, I am holding out a glimmer of hope that IndyFroona regained the box in time to lay eggs and we just don't know it..really hard to read bands on cam but I'm sure Greg will ID the birds for sure at banding time..

Yes, that is disappointing news but it's what I get for not being on top of things. I appreciate the news, SGB. Thank you. So, it was Brinn doing all the action today, and she was a sight to behold.

I didn't want to like Brinn, but I have to admit she is a beauty she has still got a few of her little girl looks, but she is is good mama from what i have seen so far.
