Yep, that's a considerable age difference for chicks.

Edit
Well I did watch the whole feeding and it appeared that the baby did get a few bites and it snoozed off and on, also the 2nd smallest get quite a bit after the 2 bigger one got their fill. Mom was very patient making sure that all were fed, but still....
It won't be easy for the little guy

:egg8: Genoa - 4 babies, 3 awake and alert, especially the one with the browner tummy. They swiveled their heads right, left, in came a parent - b ut no prey! Babies were very polite, no pushing or squakking... Parent looking around, seems to be looking for its mate...

I only saw 3 chicks in the box today. I assumed one was out walking around the platform and actually saw them panning around, but didn't see anybody. It still looks like 3 even at bedtime.

Genoa

On Friday, June 20, we noticed one of the chicks was missing from the box. We were able to locate the chick near the base of the stack and it was in remarkably good condition and did not appear to be injured. We think that it may have been on the outer perch and with the inclement weather, possibly blown off. We were able to capture the youngster and place it back up on the lower stack catwalk. Within a couple of hours, the adults heard it calling and were feeding it. Today, we had some required WDNR air quality compliance monitoring scheduled at the site on the stack level where we had placed the the bird. The bird was still on the catwalk and when staff exited the stack elevator, the young bird flew off the catwalk over toward the bluff area across from the plant. The bird appeared to fly without incident; however, we were not able to locate it, nor did we hear it call. It is our belief that the bird may have actually flown further than what we thought. I will keep everyone posted if I receive any more information.
