Philippine Eagle

from fb Philippine Eagle Foundation (Official)
August 26
It's truly unfortunate that a female Philippine Eagle died in Sibulan. Her death may have been caused by a bullet shot and also left motherless her 7-month old chick.
Philippine Eagles are still very much vulnerable to hunting and shooting despite existing laws to protect them.

today
Despite the death of its mom, the chick continues to grow healthily as it receives a steady supply of food from dad.
Raising a child as a single parent is hard. This is also true for Philippine Eagles as naturally both parents rear their chick together.

Hi everyone, today I went to Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in hope of getting
a few photos of Jono.
I must say Jono is looking very good and confident.
He really impressed me with his flying skills
and the amount and lenghts of his flight considering he has left the nest only 6 days back.
I managed to get a short video from far away of Jono on the rock face. Enjoy (Ernest Porter)

Jono new pictures of today :flirty:

A few photos I got today of Jono.
Sorry about the low quality but its not possible to get any closer to Jono. In the one photo you'll see a peregrine attacking Jono
and I do believe they are increasing he's flying skills by dive bombing him
