Here's 2 pictures Sherri on Maine got this morning. Look at the difference in the snow from morning to afternoon (compared to pearl's pic).

I hope nothing is wrong here . . . I don't see an egg although it could be deep down in the bowl

No parent incubating for at least 12 minutes now . . . I can hear them nearby talking to each other. :?

Bloggers aren't concerned, so I just tuned in late to see this nest view. Egg probably deep down.

I'm concerned ... the adult keeps leaving .... can hear small 'cry's' from one of them off cam. The egg was visible earlier this morning.

As anyone seen both adults together today???

Patti, I did not see them together but I did hear one very nearby and the other in the distance . . . talking back and forth when I was on earlier.

I was nervous there for awhile!! Everything seemed fine afterwards. We're getting close to second egg time - just in time for more snow!!

Now this is the first new, useful thing on PB in a long time!!

So if she's going to lay another egg it should be sometime today at the latest.

This is called ... Find the Eagle!

Patti :sfyesno: :sfsnowball:

Whenever I see eagles in these types of situations, I try to remember that fruit growers will coat their crops in water which then freezes so that the ice will work as insulation against temps that go well below freezing. So, this snow "blanket" may actually be helping this eagle . . . ?

OMG! I just checked the forecast for here, and they're predicting 20-30+ inches of snow before this latest storm ends. I really don't see how these eagles could cope with that amount of snow in the nest, but I'll hope for the best!

I'm hoping much of the snow will blow off the nest as it falls, though I must admit it doesn't seem at all windy at the moment.

Oh - I do feel for poor Belle - she's now sitting there with wings outstretched, in in the couple of minutes since she changed position, they've gone from black to white. :(

Added - Just saw your pics, Susan. That is what I was describing, but I'm not where I can post pics so I'm glad you did.

And no - I've seen them out in a sort of half-circle, but have never seen them extended like that for any length of time. She's looking around, and doesn't seem distressed - but it sure doesn't look like a comfortable position to me!
