I thought I'd check in to see how our eagles were doing . . . this is so much worse than I thought! :(

I just lit one of Froona's candles - I'm hoping she can keep our birds safe in this awful storm.

Just checked on her again and she's in the same position as SGB's pic. -- one hour ago!

Cam shuts off at 10:00 P.M. EST. We won't see her again till morning ... as long as the cam is still working in the morning! :(

What a relief! The cam is still up this morning, and it looks like the eagles have been doing well so far with all the snow. They must have had a busy night!

I just hope that the wind and snow stop soon. It's dreadful here in northern Delaware - it looks like the snow is already about 15 inches deep, with 6-10 inches more to come throughout the day. I think it's probably even worse in Blackwater.

We've just now had a parent switch OR a "shake off the snow" episode...

Blackwater reported that the exceptional pair weathered the storm:

Thanks for that shot of the eggs, Bonnie. I've been trying to get one this morning but it's so hard with the refresh cam.
