If I had to make a guess, I'd say this is a newly laid egg...first egg roll I've seen all day...not that I've had the cam up the entire time...

On Maine we are thinking she just laid that egg. I was watching too - thing is, I only see that one egg. I think the other may have gotten buried in the snow.

SGB...what a great video! It looks to me like its almost on grass, so probably #1?
You are too funny, still watching, even though you've said stop a few times.
The snow is ending in WV, now its time to see what happens. They is quite a nest in the snow.

I think it is the second egg...just laid...and egg #1 is lost....I think that's why she's been sitting "high"...couldn't find the egg and she was in labor....I still am worried about all that snow UNDER the egg...I do hope she can get that brood patch wrapped tightly around the egg...then it should be ok...

edit: I am hopeless...you are right, obxbarb...I walked away for about 10 minutes...then came back...I'm bad...really bad...

Thanks for the update Patti! Well, include me in the ranks of the hopeless. I just caught up on the Maine forum, and I see you have been busy Patti ;)
Well, here's to hoping #2 survives, and Liberty can give poor Belle a break soon.

It was too hard for me to watch today, so thanks to those of you who did. I'll mark the eagle nest calendar as egg #2 arriving today.

A parent was gone for quite a while late this afternoon...egg uncovered...parent returned right before we lost the light...I just don't know if they are gonna hang in there...and now they're saying another system is coming in Tuesday? I hope they hang in there...but I wouldn't blame them if they wanted to try this later...if that's possible...

It seemed that Belle took a much needed break this afternoon...and Lib didn't quite know what to make of the "missing" bowl. He tried to incubate but couldn't quite get settled. So instead he went out and got a stick cause that's what the males do, get the sticks. :( I could see the new egg but no sign of the other one.

Every year I ask myself why I do this. It just breaks my heart to see this happen. I haven't gotten a thing done today and I think my hubby is mad cause I'm spending all my time on the computer. Just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings I guess. Someone did see Belle come back and I think she is on the nest but it's too dark to tell.

I'm with you, PattiO...I've gotten nothing done...Belle, did come back..(I guess it was belle)...I'm pretty sure she settled back on the egg...but that new egg was uncovered for quite a while...maybe it will be ok...in suspended animation, so to speak..I suppose anything is possible...I remember in 2008..Scout left that first egg uncovered for so long, we thought for sure it was infertile...and low and behold..to the surprise of everyone...it hatched..(not to mention there were 8 days between egg #1 and egg #2)

I worry so much more with Eagles than I do with Falcons ... Eagles are, for the most part, confined to 2-3 eggs. The only re-nest I ever saw was Mom Norfolk in '08. She laid 5 eggs that year!!

Sherri on Maine just posted a pic ... she's got a good editing program .... and Belle is there!!

I was just coming here to post that shot too, Beth. ;) I think they've given up . . . and who could blame them. They really gave it a valiant effort.
