I had to switch to still images which kills me but...

Very interesting today.
11:10 cam time
Belle eating at top of nest. Lib coming in with sticks and trying to revamp nest around her It was quite funny
But she left and he left

I am doing this in a hurry becasue I am not supposed to be here ;) ;) and I have to go out
11:32 cam time -11:25
It got confusing at this point becasue cams kept freezing as did my computer but I heard an eagle land above housing and then all of sudden there was Belle in the nest.
I could still hear something above and Poof, Liberty was either on top of Belle or behind her.could not take pictures as everything was frozen up
then belle got out of nest and left and then Lib left

now ti is 12:38 cam time and nest is empty but.. belle just left

they have been in and out. It almost seems like Lib does not want Belle incubating or Belle may have another egg???
They have been bringing in sticks and nesting material. I should say Lib has.
They have been putting nesting material in bowl and little twigs.
they have been in and out
Belle has spent some time in nest bowl but almost jsut to get it ready

This nest slideshow is time stamped and I will have to process next one later today or I will be late again picking up grandson
I hope someone is watching while I am gone. I will scout the sites when I come back to see who saw what
anyhow this is another slideshow.Sorry I did not have time for captions, but watch the times and you will see it makes sense.
More in the stomach turns later :wavingsnowgirl: :wavingsnowgirl: :waveht: :waveht:

Well, when I saw that egg in the bowl this morning, I was hopeful, but it looks like they are not planning to incubate it.

1:20 p.m. nest time: The parent whose shadow I could see at 12:00 from center of bowl just flew off.

Unfortunately, I have to leave now.

I don't know what the temperatures are at the nest, but as long as the egg is not cooling down below about 7 degrees Celsius, it might still be okay.
If the parents don't leave the nest for too long, as long as they keep rolling the egg regularly, there still is hope.
Development slows down when it is cooling. In general, hot and dry conditions are more dangerous to the embryo.

4:02 p.m. Another adjustment, egg roll and wiggle down on the bowl. I'd like to get a better look to see if she might have laid another egg at 3:37 p.m.

Lightened my previous pic and pointed (in red) to what could possibly be a new egg and (in blue) to the "old egg" or whatever we've been looking at today. Then again, my eyes may be playing tricks on me.

There was 2 eggs showing earlier today. I think one from before.
I am thinking also that with the sun shining ,the egg is not in danger. she kept it covered during the worst times.
5;45cam time Belle in nest cup
I am still wondering if this is a new male as his behaviour is very strange.
they have been very busy bringing in sticks and nest material.
And i mentioned earlier that i am wonderingif she is going to lay another egg.

Having said all of this there were times when some said Belle on nesst and I thought it was the male because of the longer neck
Wish I could watch live cam instead of stills.
Hope peter can play with computer when he gets back to figure out what happened
i will post slides later

Hi all. Good to see daily updates. I have to say, when I watched the Nature program on the eagles, they made it clear the nest is the MALE's. He draws the female to HIS nest. So I think whether they incubate the 3rd egg (I believe the first 2 were literally lost in the snow) or not, Liberty is fixing his nest up for Belle. :beathrt: If they still keep their bond, and mate, she could lay even just 1 more egg. :cheer If they were going to abandon the NEST, then I don't believe Belle would be staying with Liberty, and he wouldn't be trying to repair the nest. So whether this one egg makes it or not, it could be she may lay 1 more egg. That's my story and I'm sticking to it until they show me differently! :cloudnine:

LeeLee, I think your scenario is very possible, and the logic behind it is sound. Let's stay tuned and see what Mother Nature decides. :openrose:

Nice to see someone this morning. Look at all the nesting material that's been brought in.

While one was incubating, another brought in a stick. One flew off and the "stick-bringer" (ha) took over on the egg. Tried to get a look at the egg, and this is the best I could get:
