Bird Cams Around the World

Just checked the Hanover cam. It is offline.

The Hanover cam has been off and on for me today. Somewhere around 5:00 I saw BOTH eagles. The one that had been incubating got up. Then the cam froze. Refreshed the cam. The eagle that had just flown in had a fish. The other one flew off. The eagle with the fish ate some of it and then got on the eggs. Couldn't tell anything about them. Most of the fish was left on the left side of the nest.

Changing of the guard and then BABY! YAY

Had a VERY brief look at a squirming gray fuzzball in the Hanover, PA nest a few minutes ago. I think it was dad eagle that brought in a small fish. Finally mom eagle got up and was in the camera's face before flying off. Dad eagle settled down very quickly, so my look lasted maybe 5 seconds.

I know - you have to be fast because they are LOL

So sweet though.

For the record about the weather here today. It's very overcast, and at 9:00 it was 32 degrees here in Harrisburg. It should be similar to that in Hanover.

It is impossible to get on the Hanover web site right now. Our local news had a nice clip of the blessed event on the noon news at noon today. Am seeing an occasional snow flurry in the air here.

so it is not jus t me then.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Hanover nest, Bev. Any posted pictures should be marked with credit to the PA Game Commission according to what it says on the web site. Was able to get on to the site a bit ago, and could see several fish around the edge of the nest. The state park near where the nest is has a BIG lake, but I don't know how much of it is still ice covered. Surely there is some open water by now.

Thanks for the photos, so excited to see a wee one!! I've tried all day to get on, it's been impossible. My dad is obsessively watching in his office and waiting impatiently for news, he lives nearby.

I managed to get on to Hanover mama right now. She's sitting there calmly, and every now and then she moves as if something is moving beneath her. Fish are still uneaten on the edge of the nest.

Great news about the new baby in Hanover. Thanks for the picture, Bev! I think the popularity of this cam has taken the sponsors by surprise. I also can't get on the cam.

According to a very nice story at 6:00 on one of our local TV stations in Harrisburg, there were 635,000 hits on the PA Game Commission's web site today to watch the Hanover eagles. That surely explains why many people couldn't get on the web site. I just tried again, and struck out.

I was able to get it an hour ago & got it again now! It would be nice if they decided to feed baby before dark!

Am still having trouble getting and staying on the Hanover site. Got a glimpse of the little one a bit ago, and a large piece of egg shell has been tossed on the right side of the nest. Not sure if that from yesterday or if something else is happening. It's a few degrees above freezing here in Central PA, with some rain on the way.
