Am still having trouble getting and staying on the Hanover site. Got a glimpse of the little one a bit ago, and a large piece of egg shell has been tossed on the right side of the nest. Not sure if that from yesterday or if something else is happening. It's a few degrees above freezing here in Central PA, with some rain on the way.

You are correct...according to FB, the second egg has hatched, but I haven't seen the eaglets...I'm having a hard time keeping this cam...LOL..

Great pics, Bev...

Did I miss something? Are we supposed to put a disclaimer on these pics (which I don't mind doing)..but, we haven't before..and we don't do it for Harrisburg...so, if we need to do it here, then we need to do it on HBG and the hays nest, too...

Yep, I'm the one who said the PA Game Commission requests credit for any pictures posted anywhere. Didn't know of any other link to that cam, and don't think the GC realized how popular it would become. We've had some light rain this morning, and it's still in the 30s, but slowly warming up. Tomorrow is to be WARM before the bottom falls out over the weekend. I have yet to see both eaglets.

Thanks Jane..the link I posted was the original cam link before PA embedded in their page...I have no problem with pic credit, but if they require it, then that means we need to do the same with HBG and the HAYS Bald eagle nest...and we haven't been...soooooooooooooooooooo...just sayin'....

Well, I don't know how to post pictures on the forum, so it doesn't affect me at all. Just saw the Hanover chicks being fed! :-) But still having trouble getting/staying on the web site.

According to a story on our local news tonight on the Hanover eagles, the PA Game Commission is trying to get a new server or do something so that more people will be able to access the web site. Don't think they ever dreamed so many people would be watching.

Growing pains...Berry went through this last year...so many people started watching that it crashed their server and they had to rework everything...then had to switch to Ustream to handle the load...this year, they switched to livestream (I'm not really sure the reasons)..pic isn't as clear..but, its nice to have the DVR function!!

These 2 are very active & already
tussling with each other! :flirty: Mom just left & Dad is trying to feed them. Unfortunately, he is having trouble reaching their beaks since he's so far away, but I remember that he is new this year. He is getting some bites into them. Now Mom is back & the babies are covered.

While waiting for an appointment this afternoon, I was looking through a copy of the USA Today newspaper. They have a section every day with a little news from each state. The news from Pennsylvania was about the hatching of the second egg in Hanover. Boy, these eagles are popular!

From the Audubon Society, regarding the Hays-area eagle nest in Pittsburgh, PA:

Audubon: Last Egg at Hays Not Viable, No Hays Eaglets in 2015

(Fox Chapel, PA, March 27, 2015) This morning, Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania saw the female Hays Bald Eagle removing a large piece of egg from the nest. After reviewing hours of footage and carefully watching the nest and the birds’ behaviors today, we are sad to announce that the remaining egg at Hays was not viable and that there will be no eaglets in 2015. The parents are no longer sitting on the nest.

The Bald Eagles in Harmar are still incubating at least one egg. Because there is no camera on that nest, we will be watching for changes in the parents’ behavior to indicate hatching. The Harmar Bald Eagles successfully raised one eaglet in 2014.
