First the bad news at Storchenhof Papendorf.....the cam has been down & out so I have no nest pics.
The adults had 3 healthy & beautiful chicks & all fledged. Yesterday I found out that all 3 went missing & were found under a power pole....2 were dead & 1 partially paralyzed & its recovery was in doubt. I will let you know.
This broke my heart as this nest is one of my favorites & the people are wonderful with any animal or bird. :(

Now for Pamhagen, Austria
This nest had 5 chicks.....2 died from all the rain & exposure. Was a little worried about another one for a while but as you can see there are 3 healthy beautiful young storks.

All have fledged :D :D

Oh no, such sad news from Austria and Storchenhof. It really hasn't been a good year for stork chicks.

I'm so glad, though, that the Bornheim #1 couple is at their nest and looking good.

Dear Catbird.......I really think the news from Austria is positive!! Three out of five survived & are thriving...the other two were hatched later & so tiny. I see this as a positive despite the lousy weather.
Yes, there were a lot of tragedies this year but there were triumphs as well. This is what I really want to impart. Think up.....nature is tough but it works out even when our hearts break!! :loveheart2: :loveheart2:

I hate what happened at Papendorf but we all need to find a way to protect the innocent & God I don't know how!!!!!!
Here is a hug..x!!!!
