Great article, BonBon! I went to the cams and thought, darn still no eagles. But guess what, some one is down in the bottom, left, corner on Cam 2 !!! :flirty:

I believe it was Harriet as it sounded like her fussing. She flew off and Slim followed. Going back in ... I think I hear them! EDIT: Hope they pull cam 2 back some. I don't see anyone. I am having some difficulties @ times with the new cams. Hope they get the kinks out soon!

This means that all of us on the SWFEC team are now working together to bring everyone observations throughout the day (and night as needed) as we have done for the previous seasons. The mods watching the cam can see in the nest whereas I cannot on the ground. So the observations will be more comprehensive. You will know what is going on shortly after it happens instead of waiting for my report. And I will be able to spend some days at home after being at the nest almost daily since March...Yes March, such a long time ago. The Nest Activity (ground and cam observations) are posted in a special thread at the Hancock Wildlife Forum and updated throughout the day. My observations are now combined with the other observations in the 'SW Florida Eagle Cam 2015' thread. I will post a direct link to the observations for each day but still post my photos and all my videos here. The Daily Nest Activity report started October 2. Just found out one of the 2 eagles seen in the nest tree during the 10 pm hour last night was a new eagle. Slim continues to follow Harriet today! Cams are currently down and they are working on it.

Interesting morning at Harriet's nest. A good number of good people there, to keep things light. Harriet and Slim were in the nest together for a little, something that didn't take place with any of Harriet's previous suitors as quickly. They headed over to Publix later in the morning and a third eagle came into the picture. They were very far, even for the 800mm, so it was hard to figure exactly who was who. By looking at my photos, it seems that Harriet landed on the tower, the other eagle chased off Slim (I didn't see where he went) then Harriet came off the tower and went after the other adult. At that distance, even with zooming in on the computer, I can't tell the 2 full adults apart. I believe, because of their positions before (with Harriet chasing) that Harriet is the one on top.

Very interesting (and scary). What do you think?

Harriet Means Eagle Business~She Wants Eggs 10-03-15
Harriet and the sub adult start the morning together. Harriet vocalizes as the sub adult (SA/slim) moves sticks i the nest. They are seen on the cell tower and Harriet strongly encourages bonding by 'footing', poking SA with her foot. SA flies back to the nest. Both defend the territory going after an eagle on the cell tower. The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn and not judge or predict. Ozzie would want us to go forward with Harriet. Miss you, Ozzie.
