well i was up at 2am my time and put up cam and went back to be. It had started snowing then, so it was 4am there.

Just reviewing my tapes. I will do one of osprey nest as 2 eagles have been there quite a bit and something is definitely up . Whether our 2 or not, something is up. no one has been to the nest which is really strange. Something has kept them away.maybe a double take over???

the eagles at osprey nest have just left and one shows up at nest and then leaves at 8:36

will be back with video

it is 5 minutes but tells a story.

since I wrote above email, eagles left osprey nest and one appeared at eagle nest . coincidence??????
did not stay long and left. eagles are now back at osprey nest. some calling going on. will keep reorder going.

all I can say , that if double take over, there may be time for another nesting.

I am just sick about this. l

Just so unfortunate...but, so happy we are looking at eggs and not eaglets...even if the residents go back to normal behavior, I think these eggs are lost...

best thing that could happen is eggs disintegrate and then maybe someone will nest

Eagles were back on osprey cam and you just know something is up when yo see them calling. they are a team. mom and dad or another pair. How will we really know
you are right, better now than when there are chicks
must run now

I wonder if the eagles on the Osprey platform are the 'resident' nest cam eagles???

(I think Lonette (Hancock Forum) posted a pic earlier this season (or last season?) identifying the nest cam eagles - will look for that. It's so hard to tell, with the viewing angles, lighting, etc. At the beginning of the video, the sun had just risen - and the first eagle looked different (to me) as the video played (had to watch it a couple of times!)

Added: I can't find what I'm looking for - but it really wouldn't matter because there's still no guarantee as to who's who on either cam (without bands - or nametags!).

Lonette is away so that is why I am spending so much time at black water but she just peeked in this morning and said the eagle on right on osprey nest was not mom

"They are reporting at the Blackwater Refuge nest today that the eggs were unattended overnight on what was a cold and snowy night, and so are unlikely to be able to hatch. They believe that there may have been an intruder which caused the parents to leave the nest, but exactly what happened isn’t yet known."

I will note the Eagle Nesting calendar. Let's hope for a second clutch.
