Both kids have huge crops! They are now both trying to get under mom to get some shade from the sun.

Oh, yummmm :girlcrazy:

I saw that posted and a reference to a wild pig farm? pasture? nearby. Watched an old wksrnwings video showing them... I think it showed the boar in a pasture near a pond - and the boar took something (critter???) out of the pond for lunch. Maybe the hoofs came from a slaughter house dumpster?
Regardless.. the hooves were kind of gross IMO, :teehee: but the eaglets seemed to like 'em!

:15heartbeat: This video is a great example of how stealth and fast E8 has become in obtaining his food ... it will serve him very well in the wild ...

I just clicked on the cam... the eaglets were napping side by side; E8 had his 'crop prop pillow' and E7 was using one of the hooves! Naturally, they must have heard me, and moved. As a matter of fact, I think E7 wanted to snuggle, E8 kind of pushed him away - Uh Uh - 'No Thanks!'
Now, E7 is lying on top of one of the hooves, and you can see the other.

:16val: Lol...Bonbon we both must have been watching at the same time. I saw E7 using the hoof on the left side of the nest as a pillow, but the chick moved before I could capture it. Both chicks had nice crops this afternoon. They are standing up now and walking with a Frankenstein-type gait. Too cute. E7 is starting to look like an eagle. Here are pics from this afternoon.

these guys are really looking great.

E8 has caught up to E7 . I guess we have to remember they will not be fed as many meals now, jsut more at each one. Self feed starts soon although , they have been trying already.

nice to see :7val:

Shamrock3: These kids are looking good and feathering out nicely. You can really see the noticeable size difference between them, and I agree that E7 is probably female. She is quite a big gal. Her little brother is still the vocal one though. The whole time I watched, he got in some peeping. Both were tracking their parents as they flew overhead. Watching and learning. Soon it will be their turn. I didn't see much in the pantry, but a hoof was still there...lol. :10val:

So glad to see that these two are doing so well. E7 at the top and E8 at the bottom.
